Path of Exile 2 Currency Making Guide

Bringing you a detailed guide on making POE2 Currency before the new season starts. While some methods may require slight adjustments as the game evolves, these strategies remain effective for the most part. I will update this guide or create a new one if significant changes occur in the currency farming landscape.

If you’ve already watched other currency-making guides, you might not find entirely new methods here. However, I will share my favorite approaches and personal experiences with each, including the profit margins and key details you need to know. Let’s dive into the best ways to make currency in Path of Exile 2!

Best Currency Farming Methods

1. Trading and Crafting (Herb Slamming)

One of the most consistent ways to make currency has always been trading and crafting, often referred to as “herb slamming.” While effective, I find it to be quite dull compared to active gameplay. However, some top players have amassed multiple Mirrors of Kalandra through crafting alone, proving its efficiency. If you enjoy crafting and flipping high-tier items, this remains a strong option.

That said, I prefer playing through maps rather than spending time in the hideout trading and crafting. If you’re like me and want to generate wealth while actively engaging in the game, the following methods will suit you better.

2. Mapping for Maximum Profit

Mapping has always been my favorite currency-making method in Path of Exile, and it remains one of the best in PoE 2. The key to maximizing profit through mapping is choosing the right strategy and Atlas passives.

Key Mapping Strategies:

  • Have a DPS and a dedicated looter: Teaming up with a friend and splitting loot 50/50 can boost efficiency.
  • Focus on high monster quantity and density: More rare and magic monsters mean more loot.
  • Include Breaches and Rituals: These mechanics offer valuable rewards such as Omen of Whittling, which I sold for 16 Divines.
  • Optimize your Atlas tree: Tailor your Atlas passives for maximum map sustain and monster drops.

Mapping fast with high quantities is the key to success. The faster you clear maps, the more chances you have for divine orbs, stellar items, and maybe even a Mirror of Kalandra!

3. Trial of the Seas Farming

Trial of the Seas is another excellent way to make currency, especially if you are willing to grind for long hours.

Expected Profits After 50 Runs:

2,200 – 2,700 Exalted Orbs (after conversion)

  • 15 to 20 Desperate Alliances (worth 3-4 Divines each)
  • Magic and Quantity Relics: These can sell for a high price, depending on the rolls.
  • Timelost Caches: The Timelost Desperate Alliance relic can be quite expensive.
  • Call Spectrum Caches: These are among my favorites, with the Grey Spectrum Saire being the most valuable (around 5 Divines at the time of writing).
  • Against the Darkness Relic: This relic can fetch over 300 Divines with perfect rolls.

The jackpot from Trial of the Seas is the Last Flame Relic, which, at the time of writing, is valued at 370 Divines! The drop rate is low (estimated at 1 in 600 runs), but the reward makes it worth the grind.

4. The Best Relic Layout for Trial of the Seas

A well-optimized relic layout can dramatically increase profits. However, high-end relics are expensive, with the best setup costing around 60 Divines.

Even without the Last Flame Relic, expect 150-200 Divines in profit per 50 runs. Those lucky enough to drop the Last Flame Relic on their first few tries can make an enormous profit.

5. Trial of Chaos (CHS) Farming

Trial of Chaos is another solid method for currency farming, especially for those just starting in Path of Exile 2. It is accessible to most classes but can be deadly, depending on the modifiers rolled.

Notable Drops:

  • Adorned Unique Diamond: Worth 100 Divines Unidentified. The drop rate, however, is quite low.
  • The Trial Master Boss Pack: This encounter can yield valuable items, including the Machin Shield and Shield of the Fallen, which require specific corruption to be profitable.
  • Web of Fates: You need three different Fates to complete a set, and the current market price for a full set is around 530 Exalted Orbs.
  • Soul Cores: The Soul Core of Aapa is particularly valuable, currently trading for 1,400 Exalted Orbs.

Conclusion

These are some of the most effective ways to farm currency in Path of Exile 2 or buy cheap Path of Exile 2 Currency. Whether you prefer trading, mapping, Trial of the Seas, or Trial of Chaos, each method has its benefits and challenges.

If you’re looking for consistent profit while enjoying the gameplay, I highly recommend focusing on mapping or Trial of the Seas. However, if you prefer high-risk, high-reward strategies, Trial of Chaos and relic flipping might be better suited for you.

I will continue updating this guide or release a new one if significant changes occur in the next season. Thank you for reading, and happy grinding, Exiles!
