Wemade’s Stock Soars with Night Crows Popularity

South Korean game developer Wemade Co. experienced a surge in stock price by almost 7 percent on Friday morning, propelled by the growing popularity of its latest MMORPG, “Night Crows.”

Shares of Wemade reached 59,100 won ($43.7) as of 10:30 a.m. on Friday, marking a significant 6.49 percent increase from the previous closing.

Mirae Asset Securities Co. highlighted the global release of Night Crows, which has garnered substantial attention from gamers. Consequently, it raised the company’s stock price target to 90,000 won from 75,000 won, endorsing a buy rating.

NH Investment & Securities Co. also adjusted their target price to 85,000 won.

In parallel, Korean refiners are also witnessing an uptrend as oil prices surge amid geopolitical uncertainties.

Shares of S-Oil Corp. traded at 83,300 won on Friday, reflecting a 4.52 percent increase from the previous day. Similarly, GS Corp., the holding company of GS Caltex Corp., saw a significant jump of 6.47 percent to 51,000 won, while Kukdong Oil & Chemicals Co. gained 2.84 percent to reach 3,980 won.

The price of West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil for May delivery closed at $86.59 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange on Thursday, local time, marking a 1.36 percent increase from the previous day.

Moreover, the price of Brent crude for June delivery surged by 1.45 percent to $90.65 on Thursday, reaching its highest level since October 2023.
